About Me
This was completed as my Honors Thesis and Interactive Media Capstone in fulfillment for my undergraduate and graduate degrees. This project has been ongoing since February 2021 and the results are published as of May 2024.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Elon University in media analytics with a double minor in creative writing and statistics. Additionally, I completed my masters in Interactive Media at Elon University with a focus in user experience and design.
About the project
This project began as a simple idea–how often are girls, specifically teenage girls, talked about in lyrics? Thus began a multi-year thesis and capstone projects devoted to examining the overt idolization, sexualization, and objectification (ISO) of girls in lyrics.

Research, survey, and a massive data project that culminated in a paper and the “learn more” page of this website were completed for my undergraduate thesis.
